Pastor Kory's Update
Dear West Covina Christian Church Family,
Without a doubt these are difficult days—dark, cloudy days. Yet through all the clouds, I continue to see rays of sunshine. I hear about how people are checking in on one another, spending more time with their families and with the Lord, and caring for their neighbors. I hope you are finding little pieces of encouragement here and there as well. God is good and with us all the time if we have eyes to see Him.
While we are abiding by the “safer-at-home” policy, that does not mean that we do not need each other. Take some time to give a church member a call or set up an online meeting. I know how much these little points of connection can mean.
Announcements:
Church Prayer Meeting this Friday, April 3 at 7 pm. Join us on your computer or by calling in. Using your computer, phone, or tablet, visit https://zoom.us/j/073082475. If you’d like to call in to the meeting, call (669) 900-6833 and use meeting ID 973-082-475. This is a time for us to connect, share prayer requests, and pray for one another. I’d love to see many of us gather together to lift one another up.
Good Friday Service will be Friday, April 10 at 7 pm. You can watch this special service on the church website www.westcovina.church.
This Sunday is Palm Sunday. The Worship Service will again be online at 10:30. Go to www.westcovina.church to watch the service. Being that this is the first Sunday of the month, please prepare some bread and juice at home for communion. As Christians, we know that the communion elements are symbolic of Jesus’ body and blood. In other words, it is not the particular kind of bread used or the juice in the cup that makes it special; it’s what the bread and juice represent. I’ll lead you in taking communion during the online worship service.
As we continue to look forward to Easter, our video devotions are on the events leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you during this time. The pastors and church staff are praying for you and love you very much. We can’t want to see you again in person.
Have a great rest of your week,
Pastor Kory
