Pastor Kory’s Update
Dear West Covina Christian Church Family,
I sincerely hope that you and your family are healthy and doing well. The staff and I have been praying diligently for you and for the coronavirus to be stopped. To my knowledge, no one in our church family is currently suffering from this virus. Praise the Lord! However, if you are sick for any reason, please let us know so that we can pray for you and help in any way.
While reports continue to highlight how dangerous this disease is and how it could last a very long time, it is still my hope that we will be able to gather again in April. As things progress, we will continue to pray about what is best for our church and let you know decisions that have been made. As for the next two Sundays (March 22 and 29), our church service will again be an online worship service. Please go to the church website (www.westcovina.church) and be ready for the service to start at 10:30 on Sunday.
Church leadership including pastors, staff, deacons, and growth group leaders are also trying to make sure that everyone in our church is being checked in on, especially our senior members. However, if you have not been contacted and you’d like to talk or let us know how you are doing, please don’t hesitate to call. Because we are becoming increasingly bound to our homes during this time, it is important for us to stay connected in any way that we can.
In addition, if you need help with transportation or getting groceries, several people from the church have volunteered to help. Please let us know what your needs are. Toilet paper is one of those items that has become a precious commodity. While it may feel weird to request this, we do have a lot of toilet paper at the church because we buy this in bulk for our bathrooms.
Lastly, we want to make sure that everyone is being cared for spiritually during this time so Pastor Darren will send out a weekly devotional through the church newsletter that is emailed on Tuesdays. Additionally, we are going to periodically send out a video devotional from different members of the church. The first one can be found here:
This is a difficult time and we are trusting in the Lord (Psalm 20:7). Thank you for all your prayers and support.
With Christ’s love,
Pastor Kory and WCCC Staff
