NAOMI House Daily Blog - Day 3
What’s up West Covina family!
Facilities team woke up bright and early this morning at 6am to paint the trailers where we sleep.
The kitchen team also woke early to make breakfast happen, we made bacon, hash browns, and put some other side dishes as well. Children’s ministry team was the last to wake. Once we finished our morning devotionals and breakfast, the day’s events started. We, kids ministry, lured the kids in the house with bubbles and took them in the kids room and did a puppet show about creation as told in Genesis. We did some crafts like finger painting, because their fingerprints showed them that they’re all created specially and uniquely. We also made some homemade maracas for song time and slime. The kids were full of energy, that is sure.
The facilities team before lunch we went to the gift shop down the road called Jackrabbit Trading Post and took many pictures and enjoyed spending time there.
Afterwards, we went back to the houses to finish up the painting on the houses and we started scraping the old paint off the back on the trailers, then we ate lunch together. The kitchen team prepared some delicious ham and cheese sliders. Then, the girls went with the older NAOMI House girls to the Holbrook pool while the guys went with the younger NAOMI House kids to the splash pad, and all together, we went to Dairy Queen. Despite an incoming storm, it was a great time of fellowship. Our evening included dinner, worship with many of the young kids, dessert, devotionals, and a team meeting.
Not to forget, watching the lightning in the expansive night sky! God’s creation can be seen in nature but especially in the people around us that we bond with, laugh with, and grow with. His works are truly so awesome.
