Is God with you now?

Is God with you now?  Of course he is, but are you really aware of his presence?  There are plenty of sources to blame for our lack of attentiveness—busyness, TV, social media.  However, you should desire to know that God is with you all the time, no matter if you are busy working or relaxing in front of the TV.

There’s a classic book, The Practice of the Presence of God.  In the book, the author says, “We should seek to establish ourselves in a sense of God’s Presence, by continually conversing with God.  It is a shameful thing to quit his conversation, to think of trifles and fooleries.”  The author then talks about how he intentionally draws his attention towards God throughout the day—while reading his Bible, washing dishes, or taking a walk.  Perhaps this is what Paul is referring to when he says, “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

On Friday at 7:00, we have Prayer and Worship Night.  This is an excellent time for practicing the presence of God.  You will be blessed as we pray and worship together!

God bless!  Hope to see you on Friday, June 14th.

God bless,

Pastor Kory
