Together Again and an Update on Church Renovations
Dear West Covina Christian Church,
This past Sunday was our first Sunday back with a gathered congregation. Many people still watched it online and the live stream worked well. Those who gathered on the lawn were filled with a sense of excitement to see people again and be able to worship together. One person told me that it felt like the Israelites coming out of the wilderness and entering the Promised Land. That’s a great feeling! For the most part, the worship service on the lawn went very well. The safety precautions kept everyone safe and the A/V team had the equipment working perfectly. The biggest tweak we will make for this week is that we are putting up a large shade tarp which will protect us better from the sun.
As we move forward, you are still encouraged to join us in whatever way works best for you. We will continue to live stream the service and hold worship services on the lawn with the safety precautions in place. Thank you for abiding by those safety precautions, especially the wearing of a mask and social distancing.
The Overcomer series has been extremely relevant and helpful. One of the themes that we will focus on throughout is overcoming anxiety with God’s peace. Glen Waki shares a video devotional about this topic today:
Lastly, the sanctuary renovations are coming along. You may be curious to know what is going on right now. Bob Smith gives us an update here:
Have a great rest of your week!
