Pastor Kory's Update
Dear West Covina Christian Church,
While we were on vacation a couple of weeks ago, we visited Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. As we pulled into the park, there were several people standing by the road looking up into the sky. I was curious about what was going on and so, after the car was parked, I made my way in that direction. I was just in time to see four massive helicopters coming over the horizon. The helicopters were practicing for the next day when they would bring President Trump and other senators to the park for their Fourth of July celebration. Mount Rushmore was cool but seeing the helicopters and then the fighter jets that came a few minutes later was even better.
I share that story because it teaches us that sometimes the best things in life are those things that are unexpected and unplanned. While it looks like the statewide restrictions will be on us for quite a while, God will surely provide great things for us in ways that we could not anticipate right now. We might as well get settled in; we’re going to be here a while. And if God is for us, that’s a good thing!
Starting on July 27, we’re going to have a fantastic virtual Vacation Bible School for the kids. It’s a great time for kids to have some fun with other kids online and also to learn about the Lord. Please take a moment to register your kids here: www.westcovina.church/vbs.
God spoke to me in my devotions a couple of days ago. I’d like to share those thoughts in this week’s video devotional:
Have a great rest of your week and I’ll see you at 10:30 on Sunday for our first live streamed worship service (www.westcovina.church).
God bless,
Pastor Kory
