NAOMI House Daily Blog - Day 2
Hi everyone , this is Kai! Today, we started our first day of VBS for the week. Today’s theme was the element, fire. We did a short skit about the biblical story: the fiery furnace. We played games like dodgeball and relay races after, and then ended off with a time of small group and poster creation. In the afternoon, we went to the arcade and played laser tag, threw axes, and had a lot of fun.
This has been my fifth time coming to NAOMI House and it is always a blessing. Each time I make the trip here, I always experience something new and learn so much about God. We see new kids, buildings, decorations, and our team is different every year. But what always remains constant is God’s love for each and everyone single person. Being here is a reminder of that fact, that God is so faithful.

What’s up, it's Emily and Ai!! Today is Monday and this week our VBS theme is "God's Power Told by the Elements"!!! First is fire, lead by Kai. It was so fire (pun), Kai’s team did a skit. After we went outside to do a relay and play dodgeball. The kids won the first round but staff won the second round! Then, we had a snack and did small groups. I (Emily) was apart of the elementary kids group and they drew on our group’s poster board. They're really good at drawing, especially sharks. One of the kids was drawing a dinosaur and another kid scribbled on it and the one drawing got sad and cried. However, we cheered him up and he continued to draw (he's really good). They also made a house out of cardboard boxes and then later sat in the boxes as we pushed them around. We had so much fun and although we had a few hiccups, we powered through thanks to the Almighty!! I (Ai) was one of Kai's helper for today's fire VBS, although it's sometimes hard to get their attention, I think it went well today. After lunch we went to play laser tag and throw axes and it was super fun! Now, Avery’s asked us to write for today's blog while waiting for dinner. I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse. Anyway, after dinner we're going to have worship. Ai plays guitar while Eric plays ukulele and Renae sings, and Noah sometimes plays the cajon. Then, we’ll have dessert while we talk about our days and hangout till lights out. Then, we (Avery, Ellie, Ai, Emily) listen to ASMR to fall asleep. If we're lucky and leave the door open, we'll find a cat or two walking in to see what's up. They're so cute! Okay bye now.

Today was the first day of VBS at NAOMI House, and it was fire (literally)! There was a Bible message, games, and small groups. I had fun helping in the elementary school small group with a group of very energetic and lively kids! After VBS ended, we had an early lunch and then headed out to go to laser tag. It was my first time and I had a lot of fun, and the kids really enjoyed it too. Later, we had dinner, worship, and ice cream sundaes for dessert together, which was a nice way to end off the first day of VBS!
