NAOMI House
As many of you have probably heard, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cancel going our NAOMI House missions trip slated for the end of July. While many of our team members were naturally disappointed and upset, I saw the amazing ways that God continued to work through each of us to bless NAOMI House despite not being able to be there physically.
One of the ways the Lord allowed us to bless NAOMI House was through the packaging and sending of backpacks for each of the kids. Through the generosity of both the church members and the members of the NAOMI House team, we were able to pack a backpack for each child at NAOMI House which contained both school supplies, personalized notes, and fun toys and activities. The backpacks were then prayed over and sent off promptly so that they were able to arrive before the beginning of the school year. We were even able to hop on a zoom call with the kids to watch them open the backpacks.
Another way in which we were able to bless NAOMI House was by buying them dinner one of the nights that the team gathered here at WCCC. We bought ourselves the same food and while we had planned to zoom with them that night in hopes of being able to feel like we were eating dinner with them, that ultimately ended up not working out. We were however, able to exchange some photos back and forth of both parties enjoying dinner.
Even if it was not in the ways we expected, I’m confident that God made a way for us to continue to bless NAOMI House in the midst of turbulent times. We were even able to send NAOMI House videos of us saying hi and introducing ourselves, as well as audio recordings of our youth worship team playing some of their favorite songs for them. God may have closed one door on us, but He continued to open so many more thereafter.
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 1:6
