Church Family

Hello church family,

As I write that greeting, it feels so natural to call the church our family.  Throughout the Bible, we see church members calling each other brother and sister (Romans 16:1, 1 Peter 5:12) and the church supporting each other as family (Acts 4:32, Philippians 2:3-4).

One of the things that contributes to a good, strong, healthy family is clear and open communication.  As a husband and as a parent, I always try to communicate with Shelsea about decisions.  We pray and talk so that we can be on the same team.  We try to seek the Lord’s will together.  And then we try to communicate well with our kids and explain the decisions that are made.

This upcoming Sunday is our annual business meeting.  In a sense, it’s a family meeting.  As a church family, we want to make sure that we are all on the same page.  Our church has been experiencing some financial challenges and the Board of Directors will put forth a budget.  This is your opportunity to hear their recommendations and seek the Lord’s will on what the church should do.

As a pastor, I am excited about the future of our church.  God is clearly up to some great and awesome things.  Whenever God is at work, we can count on Satan attacking as well.  My prayer is that we would have good attendance at Sunday’s meeting and that God would give us wisdom and unity.

Colossians 2:2-3 has been my prayer for our church lately: “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”  Please join me in praying this prayer for our church!

The annual business meeting will be held immediately after the church service on Sunday.  Please stay and participate.

Thank you, Pastor Kory
